The pinafore vest coat is the best of both worlds. Wear it as a primer underneath a coat, or wear it over a thick turtleneck jersey as a coat. Sneakers, ankle boots, thigh high boots, they all do the trick.
Just to spice it up even more, there are two different patterns of woolen boucle combined.
